First ever meeting of Press Gang

Our lesson

So on 14th February we all met up for the first time and learnt about the different effects and techniques in filming and all the types of lighting and sound that are used in filming. It was quite enjoyable. One of the best parts was us goining out onto the streets of Folkestone and interviewing the public on thier views on creativity.  It was great fun and asking the others at the end they really enjoyed themselves aswell. 9/10

Find your Talent Launch

On Wednesday 4th February I had the pleasure of attending the ‘Find my Talent event at the Folkestone Academy. Around 150 people attended this event also including performers from schools, the mayor and many people from the community.

With lots of fantastic performances and presentations there was much to learn about all of the opportunities for young people.

I have to say that so much organization went into this event and it was truly worth it. I had no idea that there was so many events and opportunities for young people in Shepway.

The performers from various schools were absolutely brilliant, and speaking to most of them they made me realize that we don’t naturally have talent and that we have to work for it first.

In all the event was truly enjoyable and with promises of new events and activities from Find my Talent who knows what’s to come watch this space to find out more.

Hello and welcome to Press Gang

Hello everyone my name is Rachelle and I am the youth co-ordinater for Press Gang. Press Gang allows anybody with ideas of perfoming arts, filming, acting and presenting. 

We cover a wide variety of things from stage setting and lighting to filming, interviewing and performing. This group is for anybody with an interst to share with the community and it is a great way to go out there and do something for yourself to enjoy also sharing, teaching and learning new skills and expanding your own.

So if you have any quieries or questions just give me a shout and I’ll be happy to help you out in any way possible
