Folkestone Film Factory

Trip to London (Speeches)

As you know we had to speak of our experiences so here is what we said. First up Elliot Langston (Interviewer and Presenter)

“Hello my name is Elliot Langston. I first came to work with the Folkestone Film Factory because at school I am taking a course in Media Studies, so I was asked to attend a talk by Zac about what the Folkestone Film Factory is, what we’d be filming and when the first meeting would be. It sounded fun so I went along, it’s hard to put in one concept but what I have enjoyed the most about filming has to be the  interviewing that I did. I was finding out what was going on at the event and what the interviewers do. Through doing this I have learnt that preparation is really important as knowing what I would be asking and it stopped me stuttering. The project will help me with what I want to do in the future because this has given me the oppourtnuity to try all this filming and I never knew I would enjoy it this much. Finally just want to say thankyou to everyone for the oppourtunity”                                                                                                                                                               Chris Moag (Camera and tech Man)

My Future goal is to become a camera operater for TV or film and the film factory has helped me move that one step closer to my goal. Recently I applied for a BTEC level 3 in media at Canterbury College, and the interviewer took one look at my application and went outside to get advice. He didn’t even look at my work. He came back and offered me a place on a Foundation Degree in media with a BA Top up in my third year. He said the only reason I got it was because of my work with the film factory and that there was no guarantee I would of got onto the course with qualifications that I already had.

“Hello my name is Rachelle and I am a creative writer and bloggist involved with Folkestone Film Factory. Shepway Find my Talent and Press Gang. I came to work with the film factory through some friends and FYT (Find my Talent) and it has been a fantastic experience. For me the best part of this is writing my blog and you know getting the information out there. I update on all the events we go to and such. Working on this project has been a continuous  enjoyment for me and I look forward to contiue working with them in the future.”
